Biography:  Glenn David Shealy, 82 of Sulphur Springs, OH, passed away on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at home. He had been seriously ill for the past 6 weeks.  Dave was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Tiro to the late Alton E. and Lois F. (Ulmer) Shealy.  He was married Feb. 28, 1954 to Christine (Perkins) Shealy who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ramon Shealy; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ed Schott; and great grandson, Austin Lane.

 

Dave is also survived by son David (Sharon) Shealy of Tiro; daughter Lynn (Darold) Noe of Tiro; brother Kenneth (Marjorie) Shealy of Tiro; sister-in-law Beverly Shealy of Delaware; grandchildren Amy (Scott) McCoy, Westerville; Angela (Andrew) Coleman, Pebble Beach, CA; Brooke (Brandon) Lane, Bucyrus; Kristy (Travis) Smith, Bucyrus; Amanda (Tim) Ross, Stow; and Jamie Noe of Tiro; and great grandchildren Drew, Audrey, Sam, Blake, Jack, Colton, Charlie, Carter, and Noah.

Mr. Shealy retired from Timken after 30 years and farmed most of his life.  He was a 1951 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd.  He was adored by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his favorite times were spent with family. Dave also enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, and he was an ardent OSU fan and avid reader, who also enjoyed watching “the markets.” His devotion to his family, addicting smile, and whit will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sulphur Springs, with Rev. Hans Scherner officiating, burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  Memorials may be made to the Ohio Health Hospice or the Church through the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy can be made at munzpirnstill.com

Our deepest sympathy on your loss. I will miss my friend that I have known for 28 years. I will miss our talks we would have when I was mowing by his place. He will be deeply missed. He was a good man.
