Biography:  Grace M. Brown, 85, of Bucyrus passed away on Monday Dec. 15, 2014 at the Hospice of N.W. Ohio in Perrysburg, OH, she had been seriously ill for the past week.  Grace was born June 27, 1929 in Sulphur Springs, OH to the late A.J. and Agnes (Chaney) Halliwill.  She was married Aug. 17, 1948 to Paul E. Brown who preceded her in death on April 13, 2006.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister and brother in law Lois and Dale Beer as well as son in law Ross Thornton.

Grace is survived by daughter Mary Brown Thornton of Perrysburg; son Tom (Valerie) Brown of Bucyrus; grandchildren Stacey (Josh) Zehring; Lisa (Steve) Blizzard; Mark Brown all of Bucyrus; Corey (Emily) Brown of Wyoming; great grandchildren Tyler and Dylan Zehring, Karmyn, Kendra and Lincoln Blizzard, Blake and D.J. Brown, and Alexander Brown;  step son Rob (Wendy) Thornton as well as step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Grace lived her entire life in Bucyrus and graduated from Bucyrus High School.  She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and was formerly a member of the Ladies Guild and Topps club member and leader. Grace enjoyed traveling and camping with her late husband Paul.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Voelker officiating, burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.  Memorials may be made to the Hospice of N.W. Ohio or the St. John’s UCC and expressions of sympathy may be left at munzpirnstill.com

I remember as a very little girl sneaking over to Grace and Paul's house and how much I enjoyed spending time with them! For the longest time I thought of them as a second mom and dad. I loved the smell of Paul's pipe and the sound of Grace's laugh. Those are treasured memories. Hold tight to those memories in the coming days, my thoughts and prayers are with you Mary, Tom and family...
