Biography: Alice Fay Hamons, 73 of Willard, ran through Heaven’s Pearly Gates on May 14th, 2022. (I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7) Alice was born June 7, 1948 in Willard to the late Elzie Kilgore and Thelma Angeline (Tackett) Kilgore Brooks. She was married August 1, 1969 to Jerry Hamons who survives. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by step father Al Brooks; brothers Raymond, Roy, Ted, George, Jim, and Kenny Kilgore as well as one sister Ruth Montgomery. She is holding her sweet great-grandchildren that were born heaven-side.

Alice is also survived by children Ricky Lee Hamons of Tiro, OH and Sheri Fay (Greg) Gargasz of West Salem; grandchildren Kaley Prater, Taylor, Trevor, and Tessa Hamons, Summer (Gavin) Boyd; great grandchildren Leah Boyd, Jaxon, McKenzie, McKenna, and Lilliana Vargas; sister Shirley (Harvey) Puckett of Greenwich; brother Danny Kilgore of California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She began preparing for the kingdom in heaven as soon as she made her entrance on earth. Throughout her life, she gained notoriety as a preacher, Sunday school teacher, and a fervent prayer warrior. Countless amounts of children were brought up with the Lord’s word in her classes (Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6), and she truly had a heart for the littlest of them (But Jesus said, suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto it: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19:14)

An ordained minister for 30 years, Alice was a wonderful Christian who began teaching Sunday School when she was 8 years old and loved to sing. (Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Psalm 11:1-2) She and Jerry attended the Faith Builders Church of God in Willard and the Messiah House of Prayer in Shiloh. If there is one thing she wants her life to have done, it is to have guided just one soul to the Lord. Her family knows that she was greeted at the gates with His arms wide open (His Lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. Matthew 25:23.) “When death one day comes for me, I shall go with a smile on my face, a hallelujah on my lips and no fear in my heart, as my God will be coming for me and where I will be going no more troubles will I ever see.” Alice graduated from Willard High School in 1967. She worked at Pioneer Balloon Company, was a teacher for Willard Head Start and worked at Goodwill for 6 years.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Messiah House of Prayer in Shiloh with Rev. Bill Howell officiating and burial to follow in New Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus on Tuesday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm.
