Biography:

Starlena Kaye Barth (49 years old), affectionately known to friends and family as “Bubba”, of Madison, TN and formally of Bucyrus, OH, peacefully passed away early March 21, 2020 at Creekside Health Center. Starlena had resided at Creekside for the past several months.

Starlena was born December 13, 1970 in Upper Sandusky, OH to Edward F. Barth and the late Rosetta A. Brown (Barth). Starlena graduated from Wynford High School in 1989. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky, OH and also attended Bucyrus Alliance Church in Bucyrus, OH. She is survived by her father Edward F. Barth (Bucyrus, OH), siblings Nicole (Dean) Van Horne (Charleston, WV) and Lori Barth (Bucyrus, OH), nephews Trevor Fultz and Tyler Striker, nieces Candyel Van Horne, Courtney Van Horne, Brianna (Parker) Van Horne, and Gabriella Van Horne, great nephews Christian, Caden, Malachi, and Rhett, great nieces Dakota, Cheyenne, Vivian, and Abigail, family friend Betty Jo Van Buskirk, and significant other Jeff Rittenberry. Starlena loved everyone tremendously and spent hours talking and face timing with her family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her mother Rosetta A. Brown (Barth), brother Albert W. Barth, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Starlena also enjoyed coloring velvet pictures, adult coloring books, and crocheting blankets for family and friends. She also liked to play bingo, watch movies, and attend activities at the nursing home with her friends she had made. She had a heart of gold and never was a stranger to anyone and always made a friend no matter where she went. She always put others before herself and would do anything for a family member or a dear friend and would always make sure she put them on a prayer chain. She also cared deeply for her friends she made at the nursing homes and made sure they were always cared for.

There will be no viewing for Ms. Barth but there will be a special celebration of life for family members and friends at a later date.

Any donations on Starlena’s behalf can be made to the Diabetes foundation as she fought this disease for many years.
